Just watched "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen" and this movie far exceeded my expectations. It was like being immersed in a book as you slowly go on a long journey and discover the world through new eyes.
Fair warning, it's a British film. Totally, completely and utterly British. It's hilarious if you truly understand their sense of humour.
The film was filled with supremely talented actors such as Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt and Kristin Scott Thomas, and a special, SWEET surprise, Tom Mison (star of Sleepy Hollow!!!!). Tom Mison was barely recognizable in this role, he was an entirely different person that had Mom guessing who it really was. And yes, I'm getting pretty excited about Sleepy Hollow coming back on air in just a few weeks *sqeee!*
This was a wonderous movie that you slowly fall in love with and you leave with a refreshing feeling as if you gone on a beautiful walk in the forest on a gorgeous sunny day.
If you get a chance, especially on a miserable rainy day like today, go find this one on Netflix.
And, um, oh yeah, I was drinking wine when I watched it which made me completely relaxed and entirely open to this experience.
Fair warning: it's NOT an action film. It's about having faith and finding hope when you least expect it.
